 Tanker construction and terminology used by ship’s staff

 Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

 Pre-vessel arrival jetty inspections

 Safe management of the ship-shore interface

 Protection of the terminal from potential hazards associated with hydrocarbon transfers

 Identification of emergency situations and appropriate actions

 Management of the vessel’s non-cargo handling operations such as storing, bunkering and repairs, ensuring operations and ‘management of change’ situations are safely completed
