Irish Coast Guard safety on the water workshops

The Irish Coast Guard and the Crosshaven Coast Guard Unit held a series of all day Workshops, Demonstrations and Presentations’ here, at the National Maritime College of Ireland on the Saturday April 19th 2008.

These workshops were free to the sea-going public.  The RNLI in-shore Life Boat from
Crosshaven was on show. The Coast Guard Patrol vessel from Crosshaven and the Customs Cutter  was also on view to the public, with personnel available to answer any questions.
The Crew of the Irish Coast Guard Helicopter, were also in attendance and demonstrated
 the Sikorsky S61N Search & Rescue Helicopter both on the ground and in the air in a
simulated ‘Live Rescue’ of an injured crew-person from a vessel on site.

- Basic First Aid
