NMCI Sailing Club Gets the New Season Going (October 2008)
The NMCI Sailing Club had its first training session of the season yesterday. There was a good turnout from the college, which is a good sign of things to come. We had a couple of beginners and a few very experienced sailors. So just to remind you that every one is welcome to come along no matter what your level of experience is. We would be more than happy to give you help and advice on getting sorted. We were able to get three boats on the water for the evening. The boats have been lying idle for some time so there is a good deal of maintenance to be carried out to get them all up and running. There was a lot of fun had out on the water and a little bit of drama. The upcoming competitions are all team racing events so we will be concentrating on getting everyone up to speed on the tactics involved in them. Keep a look out for updates on when we are training next and we hope to see you out there next time.
