National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI) are holding our annual Open Day on Thursday, 7th November 2024 from 10:00 to 15:30. Students can learn more about our NMCI academic programmes leading to careers in the maritime industry. Students will be able to meet our students and staff, take a tour of the NMCI's state-of-the-art training facilities and visit our maritime careers exhibition with international shipping companies and maritime organisations. Many of these shipping companies and maritime organisations offer sponsorship and employment opportunities to students undertaking our courses.
We recommend advance registration to facilitate your tour. Please note that students can attend with a school tour or individually with a parent/guardian.
Today, Ireland is experiencing a very positive and transformational change in our relationship with the sea. Over the coming decades, Ireland will become a key provider of clean offshore renewable energy to Europe and our maritime transport and security activities will continue to evolve because of the energy transition and geopolitics including Brexit. Never before have there been so many maritime professional opportunities in Ireland open to young adults. Many of those maritime careers start with a professional seafaring qualification and degree from NMCI. Read our Open Day Prospectus here.
