If you are inspired to work at the top level of hospitality service on board the world’s most exclusive luxury yachts come train at NMCI. We are Ireland's only GUEST approved training centre. Interior crew can now benefit from a clearly defined training route, leading to an industry recognised Certificate of Competence, issued by the PYA.

Full Description:

Students completing this course will receive the GUEST PYA certificates for: Interior Introduction, Interior Basic Food Service and Wine, Bartending & Mixology Introduction leading to the PYA GUEST Junior Certificate of Competence.

Students will benefit from the following training:

The main responsibilities a steward/ess will be expected to face on board, covering a range of important issues from life at sea to yacht etiquette, communication to safety. Designed to immerse new crew into the world of yachting, this module explores the varied role of an interior crew member.

Basic understanding of wine regions and grapes of the world, the main spirits and cocktail preparation, food and wine matching.

Fundamental differences between the various types of food service - a practical overview of beverage service and table decoration will be demonstrated, including basic flower maintenance.

Hands on experience of laundry and housekeeping skills/standards that will be expected from them when on board.

National Photographic Identification/Passport/Driver's License.

 

Joining Instructions

Please be in reception/canteen area of the NMCI for 08:45 am for registration on day one.

Course will be run between NMCI Rinagaskiddy and CIT Main Campus.

Classes will begin at 9am sharp and finish at 5pm (approx.) every day.

 

Dress Code

Black Trousers, Black shoes and black top/polo shirt.
Tattoos must be covered up.
