Our commercial course schedule is released at the end of August every year. We can also tailor courses to suit the particular requirements of maritime companies. Clients from the port operations area have worked with us to develop customised training on our state of the art marine simulators. We can also provide a suite of courses for companies looking to train their employees in numerous maritime short courses.

Offshore Courses

• (BOSIET) Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training - OPITO ApprovedThis 3 Day offshore course is designed to assist in meeting the initial onshore safety training, emergency response training and assessment requirements for personnel new to the offshore oil and gas industry.
• Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET) OPITO ApprovedThis 1-day offshore safety course complements existing training gained in the Basic Offshore Safety & Emergency Course (helicopter escape, survival techniques etc...)

Oil Courses

• Specialized offshore Training for Oil Tankers STCW 955-day course is intended for Masters, Chief Engineers, Officers and all aboard oil tankers who have immediate responsibilities for cargo. Delivered by GAC Training & Service Solutions (GTSS)

Port Sector Training

• Container Gantry Crane Operation3 Day Simulator and classroom based course, plus six months practical crane operation. The six month duration can be carried out on the employer’s equipment/location.
• Mobile Dockside Crane Operation5-Day Simulator and classroom based course plus six months practical crane operation. The six month duration can be carried out on the employer’s equipment/location.
• Bridge Resource Management Course for Pilots (BRMP)This 3-day course will address the human factors that contribute to errors and accidents at sea, with particular emphasis in pilotage waters, and provide underpinning knowledge and techniques to minimise such accidents.
• Container Gantry & Dockside Crane Operator Induction The aim of the course is to provide an introduction to candidates who have little or no experience of operating cranes in a port related environment. Candidates will operate different simulated cranes types during the course.
• Docks Operation & Safety Training1-day course designed for people working in ports and docks. After the docks safety training, you will be able to identify and assess risks to health & safety arising from hazardous dock operation activities.
• Expert Witness Skills for Port Professionals (3 days)This 3-day intensive practical course is a competency based programme which will equip Maritime experts with the skills required to comply with best practice standards.

• Pilot Refresher CourseThe 2.5-day pilot refresher course sets out to address potential deficiencies in training and to ensure updating of the knowledge & skills necessary to operate ECDIS and Radar as aids to navigation.
• Terminal Representative- Bulk Terminal Operations Training Course (Long Course)This 4.5-day course is aimed at persons appointed as Terminal Representatives who do not have any formal training but do have some experience and practical knowledge of ship loading and unloading.
• Terminal Representative-BulkTerminal Operations Training Course (Short Course)This 2-day course is aimed at experienced personnel who are already working as Terminal Representatives, but who have not yet received formal training for the role.

Short Courses (STCW’95 & non STCW’95)

• Advanced Fire fighting course (5 day) STCW-955-day course during which students are exposed to live fire scenarios in the Fire Training Unit (FTU) where they apply their training and use fire fighting equipment to control the fire. A practical damage control element is also included.
• Efficient Deck Hand (EDH)5-day course. Efficient Deck Hand (EDH) is the qualifying examination for AB and deck rating certification.
• Elementary First Aid Course (EFA) STCW-95This is a 1-day classroom based course and forms part of the mandatory basic training for all personnel assigned designated emergency duties.
• Fire Fighting & Fire Prevention (3 day) STCW-953-day course during which students are exposed to live fire scenarios in the Fire Training Unit (FTU) where they apply their training and use fire fighting equipment to control the fire.
• GMDSS Short Range Certificate (SRC) 1 + 2This GMDSS course is intended for those who wish to obtain a Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) Short Range Certificate.
• Medical First Aid Training Course - STCW 95 Compliant3-day first aid training will teach you to apply first aid skills in the event of an accident/illness. You will be given knowledge & understanding of reference materials and their use in the management of accidents and medical emergencies.
• Personal Safety & Social Responsibility (PSSR) STCW-95This 1-day course forms part of the mandatory basic safety training for all seafarers assigned safety or pollution prevention duties.
• Personal Survival Techniques (PST) STCW-95This is a 1-day course containing practical and theory sections including launching and entering a life raft in a designated pool.
• Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats (FRB) STCW '95This 3 day syllabus covers the requirements of the 1995 STCW Convention Chapter VI, Section A- V1/2, Table A-V1/2-2.
• Proficiency in Survival Craft (CPSC) STCW-95This 5-day course will prepare candidates involved in taking charge of the launching or handling of survival craft to achieve an appropriate level of competence and confidence in these operations.

Simulation

• Bridge Resource ManagementThis 4-day course focuses on the theory and principles of resource management. It is designed primarily for senior officers aboard ship.
